Founder
Jackie Cohran, RN, BSN, (University of Southern Mississippi), MSN, (Georgetown University), CIC (Certified Infection Control) is the founder of Work Place Health & Safety, a subsidiary of Infection Control Consultation Services, a Maryland-based consulting company.

Jackie is a member of the Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology (APIC), the American Association for Occupational Health Nurses (AAOHN). She has completed the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) National Nosocomial Infection Surveillance System (NNIS) Course and Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health Care Organizations, (JCAHO) Survey Readiness Course. Jackie has served as APIC’s, Chapter 16 President, Board of Directors Member and Education Committee Chairperson. She has authored numerous infection control articles and has presented infection control, employee health and workers’ compensation seminars on the local, state and national level.

Medical Director
Dr. Lawrence Frederick Blob, MD, FACEP. Dr. Blob received his M.D. from the University of Maryland School of Medicine in 1976. He is board certified in Emergency Medicine and Internal Medicine, and has been in practice since 1980. Dr. Blob is a member of the American College of Physicians, the Baltimore Medical Society, and the Biological Honor Society. He is also a fellow of the The American College of Emergency Physicians and the Director of Occupational Medicine and Employee Health for Dimensions Health Care System.

Consultant
Jennifer DeMatteo, MCM, CIC received her Masters of Science degree in Clinical Microbiology from Hahnemann University, with an emphasis on infectious diseases, epidemiology, and biostatistics. She has a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Pittsburgh and a Certification in Infection Control. Jennifer is a member of the Association for Professionals in Infection Control (APIC) and has completed the CDC National Nosocomial Infections Surveillance System (NNIS) training. She is a Past President of APIC Chapter 16: Washington, DC Metropolitan Area and has served on the APIC Board of Directors, as Membership Chairperson, Chair of the Strategic Planning Committee, and is currently their Librarian. Jennifer has more than twelve years experience coordinating an effective and comprehensive Infection Control Program for general and specialty hospitals. She has developed and presented educational programs for acute, subacute, and long-term care on the local, state and national level.
